ROCHOR CENTRE: The Colourful Blocks
Built in the 70s, the Rochor Centre comprise residential blocks above retail shops and offices. It wasn't always in its vibrant mix of colours. Under the Interim Upgrading Programme in 1994, it received a fresh new (now iconic) coat of paint in shades of red, blue, green and yellow.
In 2018, it was demolished to make way for the new North-South Expressway, which is expected to cut travel time for motorists by up to 30 per cent, at the expense of heritage.
